Same Old Obsession

Same Old Obsession

Lord Charles Andrew Howard III had one obsession and it was with his youngest brother’s wife, Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard III couldn’t figure out what Lady Karissa saw in his youngest brother, Lord Andrew Charles besides his good looks.

There was no doubt in Lord Charles Andrew Howard III mind that Lord Andrew Charles and even Lord Patrick William III were better looking than he was.

Lord Patrick William Howard III was very handsome and he was the most romantic out of the three brothers, whereas Lord Andrew Charles was the most handsome out of the brothers, but Lord Charles Andrew III had more sex appeal than either of his two younger brothers.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR was sure that his  namesake would follow him to the Dukedom of Norfolk but a cruel blow happened to Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR alters the act of succession to the Dukedom of Norfolk Territory and in his Last Will and Testament read in 2241, “The first of my grandsons that give me my first great-grandchild. I don’t care what the gender is, I will inherit the Dukedom of Norfolk after my son.”

At the time of Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior death, Lord Charles Andrew Howard III was only 11 years old, Lord Patrick William II was not even 6 months old.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR asks his two brothers, Lord Richard Edward and Lord Edwin William and his sister, Lady Sophia Charlotte “What was our damn father thinking about when he altered the act of succession?”

Lord Richard Edward Senior tells his oldest brother “ I have no clue what our old man was thinking when he drew up his Last Will and Testament.”

“Our father had to be out of his mind .” Lord Edwin William states.

Lady Sophia Charlotte looks at her brothers and says “Our father must have lost his mind when he wrote it.”

Mr. Spenser, Lord Charles Andrew Senior barrister tells Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR children, “ No. Lord Howard was in his right mind when he had me draw up his final Last Will and Testament.”

“Lord Howard has written in his Last Will and Testament that the first grandson that presents him with his first great-grandchild will inherit the Dukedom.” Mr Spenser states.

“Furthermore, Lord Howard stipulates that Lord Richard Edward, his second son , will not inherit a red cent from him as he married without his consent.” Mr. Spenser states.

“Lord Howard did leave a sizable trust that is to be divided among his four children and they are too divided equally to his great-grandchildren.” Mr. Spenser states.

“Lord Howard states that Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR is to succeed him, as he is the firstborn son and first grandchild of Lord Frederick William Howard’s and first great-grandchild of Lord Patrick William of a blessed memory.” Mr Spenser tells Lord Charles Andrew JR.

“Lord Howard has made sure that his only daughter and her family are well provided too” Mr Spenser tells everyone.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR tells Mr. Spenser: “ I have two sons, and my eldest son that carries my father and my name  is supposed to succeed me.”

“My father pitched a fit when I named my second son after my great-grandfather.” Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

“I am sorry Lord Howard, but your father’s Last Will and Testament is ironclad and the grandson that gives your father his first grandson that gives Lord Howard his first great-grandson will inherit the Dukedom.” Mr. Spenser tells him.

Lady Patricia looks at her husband “ Why did I go through all the trouble of giving you a son that can’t inherit the Dukedom?”

“How dare your father insult me like that.” Lady Patricia states, “I am writing to my brother, Lord Alexander Charles and telling him.”

“You don’t want war with my family. I married you against my will. I have given you two sons and now I found out that your father won’t let our eldest son won’t follow you.” Lord Patricia states.

Lord Charles Andrew JR looks at his wife, “ I can’t help what my father did.

“I am afraid that I can’t contest what my father did.” Lord Charles Andrew JR tells Lady Patricia.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR had another son, Lord Andrew Charles in 2250 and Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR named his son after his favorite uncle, Lord Andrew Charles Howard.

Lord Andrew Charles Howard is nothing like his great Uncle, Lord Andrew Charles Howard, the youngest son of Lord Frederick William Howard.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR watches his two older sons marry who they are contracted to, but his youngest son refuses.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR watches his youngest son and he turns to him as a last resort to save what his great-grandfather, Lord Patrick William Howard started back in 2159.

Lord Charles Andrew III has  been obsessed with Lady Karissa since the first day he saw her with his brother, Lord Andrew Charles.

Lady Karissa told Lord Charles Andrew III there is a song for every mood we feel and I know the song for you “The Same Obsession “ by Gordon Lightfoot.

“Why in the world did you marry my youngest brother?” Lord Charles Andrew III asks.

“I must have been out of my mind but he is the father of Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard, Lady Samhain and Lord Anthony.” Lady Karissa states.

“Good Goddess, any man would have given you, your daughter.’” Lord Charles Andrew III tells Lady Karissa.

“I am afraid your youngest brother was a pest.” Lady Karissa states, “Let him bass in his short term glory.”

“I know what my cousins are up to and in time they will bring him down.” Lord Charles Andrew Howard III tells him.

“The time has not come.” Lady Karissa tells him, “When it does, there will be bells on our fingers and toes when Lady Elizabeth becomes Duchess of Norfolk Territory.” Lady Karissa states.

“I have to give your damn brother two more children and I promised Lord Richard William Carey two children, but he is a patient man.” Lady Karissa tells Lord Charles Andrew III.

“Lord Richard William Carey is the great-grandson of my great Aunt, Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard. “ Lord Charles Andrew III states, “I remember her in 2259, and she had been a widow since 2240.”

“My great Uncle, Lord Willliam died when I was 10 years old and my cousin, Lord George became Duke of Bedford Territory.’” Lord Charles Andrew III states, I was 11 years old when my father became Duke and he was angry at my grandfather for rewriting his Last Will and Testament.” Lord Charles Andrew III exclaims.

“I remember how upset my father was when he heard I was going to succeed him to the Dukedom of Norfolk. “ Lord Charles Andrew Howard III, said, “No one ever knew that Lord Andrew Charles would have the first great grandchild.”

“Lord Andrew Charles didn’t have the first great-grandchild. Lady Eliza did.” Lady Karissa states, “since Lord David comes from the female line. He doesn’t count, but I am here to say ``My Elizabeth does count and I will kill anyone who stands in her way from becoming Duchess of Norfolk.” Lady Karissa tells him.

“I have already told your brother I would kill with my own hands and feed his stinking corpse to the vultures.” Lady Karissa tells him.

Lady Karissa looks at Lord Charles Andrew III and he tells her “ We must abide our time.”

“I know but it is hard. I wish he would take a new mistress.” Lady Karissa states, “He tells me. He gets tired of his mistresses.”

“I think it is the other way and that they are getting tired of him.” Lord Charles Andrew III states.

“Lady Paulina has returned to Lord Patrick William II and Lady Theresa said that he has a headache.” Lady Karissa states.

“My brother caused everyone a headache.” Lord Charles Andrew SR confesses.

“I wish that Lord Andrew Charles would grow up.” Lady Karissa explains.

Lord Charles Andrew III tells Lady Karissa “He is 30 year old and if he hasn’t grown up by now he never will.”

“I pity your poor mother.” Lady Karissa states “ She has a perpetual baby on her hands.”

“My mother and father tried but they spoiled him because he is the youngest child and son.’ Lord Charles Andrew III explains.

“I won’t indulge him and his childish way.” Lady Karissa states, “ He is a father of three children and he doesn’t even carry his ass into the nursery.

When Lady Elizabeth sees him she starts to scream and cry and threaten him she is going to call her grandfather and of course her grandfather rides in to rescue her.” Lady Karissa states.

“Lady Samhain freezes up whenever she sees Lord Andrew Charles.” Lady Karissa tells him, “Lord Anthony is too young to understand.”

“I know that my father doesn’t care about riding in from York, everytime he messes up with Lady Elizabeth. He dotes on Lady Elizabeth.” Lord Charles Andrew III tells her.

“You would think my father doesn’t have any other grandchildren.” Lord Charles Andrew III states, “He has Lady Charlotte, Lady Autumn Bridget, Lady Samhain and Lord Anthony.”

Lord Charles Andrew III asks Lady Karissa about the song “Same Old Obsession'' and Lady Karissa tells him about the song by Gordon Lightfoot.

Lord Charles Andrew III listens to her sing it the song when they are together :

“I come to this garden, I come here to rest

Early each day upon rising

I think of my lost love from over the sea

And sometimes I've wondered, if she thinks of me

I long to recall every kiss, every kind word

I miss her so much I could die

But the creatures of evil have captured her heart

And that same old obsession still keeps us apart

There's peace in the garden, there's peace in the air

Peace in the sound of the river

There's peace in the meadow, the sun shines like gold

And if she were with me there'd be peace in my soul

I long to return to the place I remember

The taste of her lips close to mine

I could do much better if I could be strong

Come into my garden but leave me alone

I come to this garden, I come here to rest

Just as the night comes stealing

Someone is weeping, I'm calling her name

Deep in the garden, deep in my brain

I long to recall every kiss, every kind word

I miss her so much I could die

But the creatures of evil have captured her heart

And that same old obsession still keeps us apart

But the creatures of evil have captured her heart

And that same old obsession still keeps us apart “
